Terms of Service

Last updated: October 17, 2026

These terms apply when you buy or use a HivePaaS license, and when you use the HivePaaS portal at portal.hivepaas.com. HivePaaS licenses are sold by Đào Công Tiến, Hanoi, Vietnam (“we”, “us”). By creating a portal account, starting a trial or buying a license, you agree to them.

1. HivePaaS and licenses

  • The software is open source. HivePaaS is released under the Apache License 2.0. These terms do not limit any right that license gives you.
  • Bee is free. Without a license key, an installation runs on Bee, the free plan, with its limits and no time limit.
  • A license is a key. A license key lifts Bee's limits, to those of the plan you chose, for one installation, named by its installation ID, for the period you paid for. Apiary licenses may cover several installations, as agreed with you.
  • The limits are a fair-use gate. They are part of HivePaaS's Apache 2.0 code. A license is how you lift them in the code we publish, and how you pay for the work on HivePaaS.
  • A limit only stops creating. No plan, limit, downgrade or expiry stops, scales down or deletes anything that runs. At a limit, HivePaaS refuses only to create more of that kind.

2. Orders and payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
  • When you buy a license, you buy it from Paddle, under Paddle's buyer terms. Paddle takes the payment, charges and remits sales tax, issues invoices and receipts, and handles refunds and payment questions.
  • Prices on our website are in US dollars, before tax. Tax is calculated at checkout from your location, and the checkout may show the price in your currency.
  • We never see or store your card or other payment details.

3. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

  • Paid plans are subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly. A subscription renews at the end of each period, at the price then in force, until you cancel it.
  • You can cancel at any time, from the portal's billing page. Your license then lasts to the end of the period you paid for, and is not renewed.
  • An upgrade takes effect at once, and the rest of the period is charged pro rata. A downgrade takes effect at the next period. Either way, the new key is issued at once.
  • If a renewal payment fails, Paddle retries it for up to 30 days, which a paid key's grace covers (see License keys); if it is still not paid, the subscription is cancelled.

4. The free trial

The 14-day Hive trial needs no card and is not a subscription: nothing is charged, and when it ends the installation is on Bee again unless you buy a plan. There is one trial per installation and one per account, and a trial cannot be moved to another installation.

5. License keys

  • The portal shows your keys and emails each one to you, including each renewal. HivePaaS checks a key offline, so it works without internet access.
  • If the installation can reach the internet, it fetches renewed keys by itself, once a day, sending only the key and the installation ID. You can turn this off; see the documentation.
  • A paid key keeps working for 30 days after the period it was paid for. A trial key has no grace period. The installation is then on Bee.
  • A key carries your account's name and email address. Keep it private, and do not publish it or share it beyond the installation it is for.
  • You can move a license to another installation in the portal, up to 10 times in any 365 days.

6. Refunds

Any payment is refunded in full on request within 14 days, through Paddle. See our Refund Policy.

7. Your portal account

  • Give accurate details, keep your password safe, and tell us if someone else uses your account.
  • We may suspend or close an account that is used for fraud, to abuse the trial, or to attack the portal, and revoke its licenses.
  • You can ask us to close your account at any time.

8. Availability and support

  • We try to keep the portal available, but do not promise that it always will be. HivePaaS installations do not depend on it: keys are checked offline, and renewed keys also arrive by email.
  • Help with HivePaaS itself is given by the community, in GitHub Discussions and on Discord. An Apiary agreement may include support terms of its own.

9. Disclaimer

HivePaaS is provided “as is”, as the Apache License 2.0 says, and licenses and the portal are provided “as is” too, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. This does not affect rights that you have as a consumer and that cannot be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profit or business, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for your license in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will post the new version here and, for a change that matters, tell account holders by email before it applies. A change does not apply to a period you have already paid for.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, with the courts of Hanoi deciding any dispute. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.

13. Contact
